Russia reports more than 4,600 new infections

    MOSCOW, RUSSIA - APRIL 8, 2020: An ambulance rushes to an emergency during the pandemic of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Since 30 March 2020, Moscow has been on lockdown in connection with the pandemic. Residents are told to stay at home and go out for essential purposes only. As of 8 April 2020, Russia has reported more than 8,600 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus, with more than 5,800 confirmed cases in Moscow.     Russia reported 4,696 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, pushing its national total to 966,189, the fourth largest in the world.

    Authorities said 120 people had died in the last 24 hours, pushing the death toll to 16,568.
