GENERAL SANTOS CITY– Local health authorities have said that the SOCCSKSARGEN Region remains free from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-2019) infection.
Arjonh Gangoso, spokesperson of the Department of Health in Region 12, said the DOH-Regional Epidemiology Surveillance Unit has reported that at least 61 persons were being monitored (PUM) for possible COVID-19 infection, three others were considered persons under investigation (PUI).
He said of the 61 PUMs, 48 have already tested negative for COVID-19 after completing the 14-day mandatory quarantine period.
He added 13 were undergoing quarantine at local hospital facilities in General Santos City, South Cotabato and North Cotabato.
He said the two of the three cases of PUI have already tested negative based on confirmatory tests, while the remaining one is still confined at a health facility.
He stressed that SOCCSARGEN, which is comprised of the provinces of North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat and Sarangani and the cities of General Santos and Cotabato, is negative for COVID -19 infection.
